Casa Barista & Co. was founded in 2018 in the Dominican Republic with the mission of driving and transforming specialty coffee culture in the country. At a time when the sector was not yet structured, they took on the responsibility of building clear quality standards through local talent development and the creation of their own roasting system. Since 2020, they have been actively involved at origin, and in 2022 they consolidated their integration into a 650+ hectare agroforestry coffee project in Barahona, operating under a regenerative agriculture and zero-waste model, strengthening the direct connection between farm, process, and the final cup.
In 2022, they opened Casa Barista Zona Colonial in a 16th-century colonial house, bringing together cultural heritage and specialty coffee in the historic center of Santo Domingo. In addition, they are the first 100% gluten-free specialty coffee shop in the region, offering a health-focused menu prepared entirely in-house, aligned with their philosophy of respect for process and product.
