Rather than working with a large number of farms, they choose to partner closely with a smaller group of producers around the world, whom they visit every year. This approach allows them not only to purchase larger volumes from the same farms but also to actively support social, environmental, and community-driven projects at origin. While roasting remains at the heart of their business, they have always wanted to create spaces where people can experience their coffees firsthand. Eleven years ago, they opened their first coffee shop at 12 Rue de la Vieille Tour, in the historic center of Bordeaux.
Their philosophy is simple: do fewer things, but do them exceptionally well. They focus on serving outstanding coffee with precision and consistency rather than offering an extensive menu.
Their original Rue de la Vieille Tour location is more than a coffee shop, it represents the spirit of Alchimiste: a place where sourcing, roasting, education, and hospitality come together to create meaningful coffee experiences.
